An interactive session on IEI R&D Grant-in-Aid Scheme for engineering students was conducted at the V R Siddhartha Engineering College,Vijayawada, on November 19, 2011, to foster R&D culture in engineering colleges. Dr U Chandrasekhar, the then Chairman, Research and
Development Committee, in his address, emphasized the need for engineering students to undertake good project work in order to cultivate the right skill of solving industrial problems.
He highlighted the scope of R&D projects in areas like rapid prototyping, aerospace technology, gas turbines, missiles, non-conventional energy resources, automotive technologies, etc. Mr D Ramakrishna, Chairman of the Vijayawada Local Centre of the Institution, advised the students to utilize their theoretical knowledge to fulfil the requirements of the industry.
